Patient Registration QA

An 890-bed, major medical center located in a southern suburb of Chicago needed a better way to manage and improve their registration procedures. This initiative was a top priority for the finance department. Taking into consideration the importance of a well run registration desk to your bottom line, the revenue cycle director drove the project through completion.

Accurate Health Systems was brought in to perform a review of the current process, interview staff and recommend a tool to improve the overall performance and quality of the registration desk. Since nothing on the market today would cover the need adequately, Accurate Health created RegiStar™ to cover the initial registration Quality Assurance (QA) process and provide a fair means of employee evaluation.

Implementation of RegiStar™ was completed in 45 days. The new tool was designed to deliver a much needed view into the registration desk and uncover employee training areas. After install, the revenue cycle director was pleased about the detailed reporting options and ease of use.

With only two months of use, the time savings was reported as an unforeseen benefit to installing the RegiStar™ tool. By automating several of the processes associated with performing the QA on the registration desk, a great time savings was realized.

"After we implemented RegiStar an associate could perform nearly five times as many audits without worry about errors, or not having a random sample."

"If you can use head count in other areas or reduce your QA staff total, this tool would pay for itself in less than a month of proper use."

"Implementing the QA tool will save you time and operational expenses immediately."
