Practice Setting: Home Healthcare office / occasionally patient home

Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Director of Nursing in our Chicago office, to coordinate and manage the activities of our field staff, as well as supervise the timely and organized completion of all related paperwork, in compliance with Medicare. We expect our DON to provide quality customer service and go the extra mile to meet the needs of Administration, through communication, direction problem solving, and support.

Ideal Candidate

  • Must possess RN license in Illinois
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Five years experience in healthcare management/ operations role
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare programs oversight and measurements
  • Proven comprehensive knowledge of the healthcare quality assurance requirements and processes
  • Sound knowledge of coding a plus
  • Excellent communication and teaching skills required
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and other management software
  • 10% travel required

Responsibilities Include

  • Proactively reviewing patient charts on a case-by-case, to conduct utilization review, and weed out both clinical and administrative oversights and inefficiencies
  • Monitoring compliance and establish procedures to reduce identified problem areas
  • Promoting continuity of quality care through the utilization of nursing processes, guidelines, quality assurance and assessment process, patient education, outcomes management and regulatory compliance
  • Educating field staff in best practices, and also regarding the corporate commitment to all laws, regulations, and guidelines of the company, state, and federal programs
  • Occasionally visiting patients to open a case etc., if field staff unavailable
  • Coordinating schedules of all field home health staff in the most time and cost-effective manner
  • Overseeing the timely completion, submission, and signing of all field staff paperwork
  • Promoting commitment to the corporate standards, policies, and procedures
  • Assisting in development of corporate strategies and strategic objectives, and the operating policies and procedures, to assure attainment of corporate objectives
